The famous Mauna Lani resort stands in the background of a beautiful view from Fisherman’s Trail along the Kohala coast of Hawaii’s Big Island.
Carved out of a’a lava rock, this trail winds its way along the shoreline from the Mauna Lani property to the Hilton property a few miles to the south. The trail can be difficult in places because of the moving rocks and close-toed shoes are recommended over slippers.
The walk/hike itself affords beautiful views of some sensational properties to the mountain side, and ample whale-viewing to the ocean side (in the winter months).
