Another beautiful scene at Big Beach, Maui. When the south swells pick up, the steep shoreline here creates gorgeous breaking waves. The geometry makes these waves literally break on the shore, making them easier to shoot and more dangerous at the same time.
When the swell really picks up most people get out of the water and enjoy the show. There are always a few daredevil boogies boarders who make an impressive effort to take on the walls of water though.
