From the ground up, Maui’s Pīpīwai Trail meanders through bamboo forests, creating a study in texture and light. In person, the Pīpīwai Trail seems to transport you to another time and place, one that is simple and warm.
This fun, 4-mile hiking trail follows a fresh-water stream up the Kipahulu section of Haleakala National Park to a tall waterfall at its top. We contend that taking a single walk on the Pīpīwai will place it on your list of all-time favorite places.
