This beautiful display of plumeria flowers is a small reminder of Hawaii’s fragrant side. Although not original to the islands, plumeria have established a strong presence here and can now be found throughout Hawaii. Lining sidewalks, streets, and storefronts, plumeria blooms have a sweet, unique, and intoxicatingly strong fragrance.
The petals of the plumeria tree are frequently used in flower leis and as adornment in hair. The tree itself is understated, sometimes appearing to have no leaves at all as it regularly sheds them. The blossoms range in colors from white and yellow to purple and yellow, purple and white, and more.
