The cool Maui upcountry pastures draw more than just people, lavender fields, and Nene–it also attracts dogs like Pono who joyfully bound across the open spaces.

Pono gets big fields, soft grasses, and rainbows to boot. We agree with the photographer that Pono is one lucky dog.

From the Photographer:

“The word Pono can be defined as goodness, uprightness, morality, moral qualities, correct or proper procedure, excellence, well-being, prosperity, welfare, benefit, behalf, equity, sake, true condition or nature, duty; moral, fitting, proper, righteous, right, upright, just, virtuous, fair, beneficial, successful, in perfect order, accurate, correct, eased, relieved; should, ought, must, necessary.

Pono is also one of the luckiest dogs on Maui. Pictured here running through the pasture field under a morning rainbow in Kula.”
