Hanalei Beach, Maui

Tunnels View

The sun goes down on the north shore of Kauai leaving behind a calm, cool beach near Tunnels. Silhouetted pali (cliffs) stand out against the sky reminding us of nature’s power to carve out shapes using wind and water.

This is one of our favorite spots on the islands. Over the years it has retained a less developed feel, along with much of Kauai’s northern side. The beaches and hiking trails nearby can offer moments of quiet and reflection more than others on the islands.

From the Photographer:

“Aloha and Happy New Year (on Hawaiian time)!”
