Wailuaiki, Maui

Wailuaiki Falls

On the road to Hana you will undoubtedly see several waterfalls from the car window. However, there are many more waiting to be discovered by anyone adventurous enough to step away from their vehicle and trek just a few feet into the lush area covering this side of Maui.

One such waterfall is Wailuaiki Falls, near the 21 mile marker, below the bridge. It is a beautiful, typically quiet spot, that affords some solitude even though it is close to the highway.

From the Photographer:

“This place has always been special to me. Rarely do I ever find anyone here, and the untouched atmosphere of this view is impeccable. It’s one of those places you can feel, and though photos don’t do it justice, it remains a favorite place for me to go and unwind in the peace and serenity of nature. Shot with Canon 5D MK II with 17-40 L Glass.”
