Hawaii is full of delightful flowers, both exotic and common. This patch of brilliantly yellow daisies was captured on a blue-skied winter day on a mauka (mountain side) path near Kealakekua leading to the ancient village of Ka’awaloa.
At about 1,200 feet in elevation, yet only a short distance from the ocean, this micro-climate area receives about 70 inches of rain a year.
