Silhouetted palm trees sway in the breeze as a golden sunset radiates the background in Hawaii. At 20 degrees latitude, sunsets last only a few minutes, perhaps making them even more appreciated.

In some Hawaii sunset scenes, the view has remained nearly the same for hundreds of years, since Hawaiians first colonized the islands bringing coconut palms, taro, and other foundational crops.
