Two miles hiking on the winding and sometimes steep Kalalau Trail takes you to this secluded and fairly remote Na Pali Coast beach. Hanakapiai beach is the first of a few beaches along the trail and the only one you do not need a permit to get to. Inviting and beautiful, it is not a swimming beach. Especially during the winter months, the waves and rip currents make the beach very dangerous. Lush greenery, steep cliffs, waterfalls, turquoise waters – let your eyes enjoy this Hawaiian treasure.
