This misty landscape across the Big Island’s South Kohala district picturing the island’s two main volcanoes, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, demonstrates Hawaii’s diversity and beauty.

Rising from sea-level only a few miles away, the land makes a steady ascent to the peaks above standing over 13,000 feet in elevation.

The South Kohala district is filled with barren lava fields and softer grass grazing ranges. Its wide-open spaces remind us that the Big Island is in fact, surprisingly big.
