Looking for some coconuts on the islands? Kapuaiwa Coconut Beach Park has you covered.

Located in Kaunakakai on the island of Moloka’i, Kapuaiwa is one of the last royal coconut groves in the state. Hundreds of coconut palms planted during the rule of King Kamehameha V in the 1860’s tower above the ground.

The trees here can reach nearly 100 feet, so keep an eye to the sky for falling coconuts once under the dotted canopy. The coconuts are the size of a football and weigh several pounds.

The coconut was of the few foods to make the cut and be brought to Hawaii by the early Polynesian settlers. It is used for food, rope, wood, clothing, mats, and more.
