A large all-black bumble bee dives in head first to dine on a light lunch of the sweetly scented Queen Emma Lily. The bee buzzed from one flower to the next gathering as much food as possible until a gentle ocean breeze floated it away.
Queen Emma was wife to the ruling King Kamehameha IV in the 1850s and 1860s. Crinum flowers were big in Hawaiian plantation landscaping and are found today in many gardens along the coasts.
There is a great rundown on debated identification of the Queen Emma Lily and more on the Hawaii Horticulture blog.
