As the sun shines down through blue skies in Hawaii, many seek refuge under the shade of palm leaves. The view from beneath palm leaves always makes us feel right at home.

Palm trees and their leaves are used for many types of weaving, depending on the type. Several species of palm trees in Hawaii produce powerful medicines, like the coconut palm and acia palm.
