Three children play out the remaining minutes of sunlight in the warm waters and gentle waves of Kamaole Beach 1 in South Kihei, Maui. In South Maui, the winds are more calm than the rest of the island and views look to Kaho’olawe, Lana’i, and the West Maui Mountains.
There are three Kamaole Beaches in a row extending south from the Kihei town center. Each of the beaches provide wide, white sand shores, clear waters, fun snorkeling and swimming, and fantastic scenery. These beaches are perfect for whale watching during the winter months as mom and calf humpback whales make their way into shallow nearshore spots to rest and gain strength for a long trip north.
