Every town needs one of those places you can take the kids for some relaxed beach time. The keiki ponds in Kailua-Kona is just such a spot. A breakwater of volcanic rock keeps the waves to a minimum, the sand is soft, and the pools of water have surprisingly fewer rocks to stub your toes on than other spots.
Not to mention it offers a spectacular sunset view.
