Orchids are a common pleasure on the Hawaiian islands. In many of the more windward, wet sides, orchids are in abundance.
This orchid was captured near Pahoa on the Big Island. Pahoa receives around 8 inches of rain each month, keeping humidity perfect for growing these distinctive flowers.
