Sunrise behind low clouds sets the sky ablaze with yellow and orange from this beach on Kauai. Most Hawaii sunrises are worth getting out of bed to see, but this one, framed by a scrub tree and winter’s breaking waves, is a scene we could watch unfold over and over again.

The sun is out for just about 12 hours in the winter in Hawaii due to Hawaii’s latitudes between 19- and 22-degrees. This position also means that Hawaii has relatively fast sunrises and sunsets, leaving less time to be enjoyed and making them all the more precious.
