The Pipiwai Trail is one of our all-time favorite places to hike, see, and just be. Cut through a bamboo forest, the trail winds up a beautiful river valley on Maui’s eastern slope.
The bamboo filters shafts of light to create shifting patterns of shadow and green. This makes it equally gorgeous and difficult to photograph.
From the Photographer:
“Located in Haleakala National Park, the ‘Pipiwai Trail’ is one of those hikes that delivers spectacular views with every turn. If you’ve made the effort to drive the Road To Hana, Maui… you MUST make the effort to hike this trail!!” – Nathan Philps Photography
