We are always struck by the vibrant colors of Waimea Canyon on the island of Kauai. The steeply carved canyon walls alternate between bright greens, reds, and black owing to rich volcanic soil and ample amounts of rainfall.
Some are lucky enough to get off overlook and experience the canyon by helicopter, flying through and next to tiered pali (cliffs) for an up-close and personal view.
