An adult Green Sea Turtle swims by a woman, taking it easy in the clear blue ocean off Maui’s north side.
Honu in Hawaii have been protected long enough now that they have become quite accustomed to swimming with people. It is illegal to disturb turtles or swim after them in the water; however, the turtles have no such restrictions and will often cruise by for close encounters.
