The sun goes down over Kona town on the Big Island of Hawaii’s west side, creating a purple and yellow scene of repose as the buzz of daily activity comes to a close.

In the distance you can make out the lights of Ali’i Drive and Old Airport park.

This scene from a local balcony is common in Kona where the shield volcano it sits upon is a relatively steep hill providing good views to most homes.
