Three plumeria angle toward the southern sun to soak up the rays, showing off their simple yet inviting blossoms.
At this runway-side garden located at Old Airport on the western shore of the Big Island of Hawaii hundreds of flowering trees and bushes have been planted. A walking path weaves between meticulously cared for garden sections planted and cultivated by individuals in the community.
One can come here to see and smell the flowers any time of the year. Plumeria will bloom throughout the year so there is always at least one tree in the garden with flowers. The high temperatures on the shoreline here reach between 70 and 80 degrees daily. Low temperatures rarely get below 60.
