Between the shore and the ship one can make out the profile of two outrigger canoes paddling in the bay. The outriggers appear tiny and traditional compared to the massive, gas-powered cruise-liner.
Seeing these two ends of a spectrum are part of what attracts us to Hawaii where tradition often takes place alongside the current.
