The sea stretches up onto Oneloa Beach–called Big Beach locally–leaving tiny striations in the golden sand as it retreats back into the Pacific in the ongoing ebb and flow of the ocean. Oneloa is known for its long and wide yellow beach in South Maui that is ideal for sunbathing and serious boogie boarding.
Kaho’olawe shows above the horizon in the distance, now a relatively barren island with no residents or visitors. Big Beach is one of the closest points to Kaho’olawe and the islet of Molokini.
