Kua Bay Beach Sunset

Kua Bay, also known as Manini’owali Beach, on Hawaii’s Big Island is outstanding for sunsets. The local beach is also outstanding for boogie boarding, relaxing on white sand shores, and generally having a great day.

Set at the end of a now nicely paved road, the beach has remarkably nice sand. There is little shade, but the breezes are steady and the water refreshing.

This picture captured the last moments of sun for the day behind a lone keawe tree. In the winter, this can be a good place to spot humpback whales just offshore.
