Kilauea is astonishing from any vantage point, but maybe especially so from the overlook behind the Volcano Hotel inside the national park.
From this spot, across from the main visitor center, most of the elements of a great volcanic shot: steam rising from the ground, huge caldera, rain-forest trees, and a barren background. Perhaps the only thing missing is hot lava pouring from a new crevasse.
