Kekaha Kai, Big Island

Kekaha Kai (Kona Coast) State Park can be found on the westernmost point of Hawaii’s Big Island. This beach is known as one of the most beautiful on the island. Perhaps the most beautiful thing about it is its limited accessibility, which keeps the number of visitors to a minimum and rewards those who make the forty minute, five-mile drive over broken lava.

Even with the difficult drive, this beach is actually seen by many coming to and leaving from the Big Island–the main air route to Kona Airport flies just off shore.

For those lucky enough to enjoy it frequently, we are envious.
