Hookipa Wahine Surf

The Hookipa surf break on Maui’s northern shore is known world-wide for its windsurfing and kiteboarding. It is also known and commemorated in songs as a great surf spot.

Early mornings at Hookipa bring offshore breezes helping waves keep their form as surfers ride down the faces.

This picture captures a young woman (wahine) catching an overhead-size right wave.
