Honokaa Rainbow

Many people call Hawaii the “Rainbow State” even though the official monicker is the “aloha state.” It is easy to see why, however, with rainbows visible nearly every day on all the islands in the chain.

This rainbow was captured on the east side of the Big Island near the town of Honoka’a. Like all of Hawai’i's islands, the Big Island is wettest on its windward shore, usually on the eastern side. With daily rains, you are sure to be able to enjoy rainbows time and again.
