Waimea Bay on Oahu’s North Shore is beautiful and calm on a clear afternoon. Come winter time, this beach will be engulfed by some of the biggest surfable waves in the world. Until then though, it is a sunbathers paradise with blue crystal water, warm temperatures, and plenty of soft sand.
At the far end of the beach, intrepid youth–and not-so-youth–dive from the tall black rocks into the ocean, providing entertainment for themselves and onlookers.
When the beach is as uncrowded as this, it is a perfect spot to drink in the aloha that Hawaii offers.
