Ko’olina in Shades of Blue

Oahu’s Ko’olina area seems to be more picturesque every day (thanks to its own natural beauty and the vision of photographers like Henry Aguilar). Here, the ocean leaves behind trails of smoky water formed by a rock outcrop’s influence on the ebbing and flowing tide.

Captured over a long exposure, the pattern of flow becomes both apparent and artful. Clouds in the sky and the contrasting rock colors create hues of blue and purple that somehow communicate a feeling of warmth rather than coolness.
