Morning Magic

Somewhere between Kealakekua Bay and Honaunau Bay on Hawaii’s Big Island you can find this magical morning spot. After a light rain shower, the sun pokes in through low clouds and beach palms to illuminate a Kona coastline that has not changed much in the past centuries.

Once a spot busy with the day-to-day activities of Hawaiians, it is now regarded as an historic–and modern day–treasure.

There are few amenities onshore other than beautiful, rustic views that invite relaxation. In the water, though, is some of the clearest, most astounding snorkeling in all of Hawaii.
