Yellow Tangs And Others

Underwater Canvas

Hawaiian waters are blessed with an abundance of tropical fish, coral reef, and underwater visibility approaching 200 feet in some areas. Getting into the ocean to share time with these schools is always a joy.

This photo features a school of yellow tangs feeding mid-day. A discerning eye will also see a black triggerfish (humuhumu ele’ele), convict tang, and orange-band surgeon fish in the background. You may also notice a mother wrasse among the tangs. This fish are swimming above old lava flow and near cauliflower coral.
