A commuter flight pilot navigates his plane from the Big Island to Maui across the ʻAlenuihāhā Channel. This very personal view of the pilot comes standard, along with friendly service and souvenir (aka airsick) bags.
Mokulele, Island Air and Pacific Wings all have small Cessna aircraft flying between the Hawaiian islands. For those wanting no security lines and a closer up view of the islands than that offered by bigger planes, this is the way to fly. Of course, a certain sense of adventure is required to handle the lower altitudes, intimate seating arrangements, and takeoffs and landings that can be felt.
If one is lucky, the plane may have no other passengers, in which case the flight becomes a private chauffeur to paradise.
