Hana Rocks

This scene was photographed from near the end of the Hana highway on the island of Maui.

It is a surprising picture to some, as many only think of Maui–and Hawaii–as lush green everywhere. In fact, many of the islands have a fair amount of rocky, plant-barren land.

But in Hawaii even the barren lands offer incredible views, valuable resources, and historic significance.
