It is always a heavenly view from atop Haleakala on the summit of Maui at twilight. From this vantage you can see both north and south sides of the island, the West Maui Mountains, the sugar can fields of the valley, and the upcountry hillside–not to mention the tops of the clouds.
There is a contemplative feeling that comes from looking down on the clouds. It calls to mind childhood memories of bouncing from cloud to cloud, or soaring through them, or discovering if anything lives above them.
