A World War II era Corsair fighter plane rests in Hawaiian waters while schools of reef fish swim past.
Wreckage like this can be found throughout the islands as a somber reminder of the recent history surrounding Hawaii.
Once at rest, large items like this go on to serve as areas of new growth undersea. They become homes to coral and small fish, which in turn attract more fish, more activity, and more life.
