Barbers Point Lighthouse

Barbers Point Lighthouse, Long Exposure

Barbers Point Lighthouse stands tall and proud on southwest Oahu as a beacon warning ships from certain wreckage based on years of experience. Since the late 1880’s the lighthouse has helped to keep mariners safe from the hidden, shallow coral reef as they circle the island and port at nearby Ko’olina harbor.

Most pictures and paintings of historic Barbers Point Lighthouse face the opposite direction, with the lighthouse keeper door facing to the right. This long exposure looks from the reverse direction instead, taking advantage of the sky conditions the spotlight-lit palm trees.
