Orange Hibiscus, Hawaii

Orange Hibiscus

A bright orange hibiscus with both orange petals and orange stamen displays brightly in Hawaii. These gorgeous flowers grow to several inches across, making them visible from quite a distance. Lacking a strong scent, they use their size and color to attract pollinators.

There are hundreds of species of hibiscus, many of them cultivated right here on the islands. You’ll find hibiscus like these along the streets, at homes, and growing wild from sea-level to a couple thousand feet uphill.
